The Best Camera for Webinars in 2025

The Best Camera for Webinars in 2025

When picking out a webinar camera, it's important to remember that most attendees aren't expecting a Hollywood-level presentation. That doesn't mean they'll tolerate the blurry video feed from a built-in webcam, but spending hundreds or thousands of dollars on a DSLR camera setup would be overkill.

This guide will help you find the best webcam for your needs that provides the highest image quality with the lowest cost and easiest setup. Specifically, we'll go over three viable options in different price brackets:

Best camera for webinars

Before we cover the webcam options below, remember to check your webinar platform to see which camera settings it supports. Knowing you can't go above 1080p in the webinar setup wizard might make you think twice about paying extra for a 4K resolution web camera.

Logitech C922 Pro

Logitech C922 Pro

The Logitech C920 has amassed over 25,000 five-star reviews on Amazon since being released back in 2012. However, the C922 Pro is an improved model with noticeably superior picture quality while costing only slightly more — making it a no-brainer upgrade.

It's also the exact webcam that our Director of Content (who's writing this article) has used since 2022 so we have more than enough hands-on experience with the C922 Pro to vouch for it. The video quality is surprisingly high as long as you keep the lens clean and have decent brightness in your room.

It also has auto-focus and light correction which ensures you always look good on camera even if the video lighting changes in the middle of a webinar. Lastly, the webcam is sharp enough to properly crop the subject when using virtual backgrounds regardless of whether you have a green screen or not.

The only criticism we can levy against the C922 Pro is the poor audio quality on its integrated microphone. That said, most webcam microphones are mediocre and disabling them in the settings isn't much of a hassle anyway.

Logitech BRIO

Logitech BRIO

While the C922 Pro may be more than enough for video calls and virtual meetings, Logitech's BRIO line of webcams take things to a whole new level. They're specifically designed for professional live streaming and online presentations, with specifications that reflect those use cases.

Its 4K resolution is a "nice-to-have" but likely overkill for most webinar and streaming purposes. Realistically, you'll use the BRIO to capture video in 1080p at a frame rate of 30 to 60 fps. Regardless of which resolution your BRIO is set to, good lighting will be essential to getting great image quality.

The BRIO also has two internal microphones with native noise cancellation capabilities. While the sound quality is serviceable (and certainly better than most other webcams), we'd still recommend getting dedicated webinar microphones like the Blue Yeti Nano.

While not specific to webinars, one unique feature of the Logitech BRIO is that it's compatible with Windows Hello which lets you use face recognition to log into your computer. Not a game-changing feature by any means but it does serve as a convenient bonus.

iPhone (2015 or later)

Apple iPhone 6S

Strictly speaking, the iPhone is technically the most expensive "camera" on this list. That being said, 45% of Americans already own an iPhone meaning the true cost of using it for webinars is likely zero dollars.

In fact, we ourselves use iPhones (mounted onto gooseneck phone holders) to record every episode of the ProfitLed Podcast. As long as you have an iPhone 6S or any later models produced after 2015 (which is when Apple switched to a 12 MP Sony sensor) then you should be good to go.

On the software side, we use Camo to turn our iPhone into a full-blown webcam. The free plan caps resolution 720p on the free plan — which happens to be the ideal resolution for live webinars (as you don't want to use up too much attendee bandwidth).

If bandwidth isn't a concern (perhaps because you're running pre-recorded webinars rather than live ones) then you can upgrade to Camo's Pro plan for $50/year or buy a lifetime license for $100. Camo has apps for Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android devices so you can use it on pretty much anything.

Which camera is best for webinars?

If you own an iPhone, using the phone as your webinar camera will be the most practical option. The free version of Camo can turn any modern Apple smartphone into a great webcam with comparable clarity to the best equipment.

Those who don't own one would get the best bang for their buck on a Logitech C922 Pro (or even a C920). After all, it'll be hard to fully utilize the high-resolution capabilities of a Logitech BRIO during webinars.

Ultimately, choosing the right webcam will depend on your budget, what equipment you already have, and which resolution you'll use during webinars. Thankfully, there's an abundance of options below the $100 mark which makes hosting webinars much cheaper than it used to be.

You can even save extra money by renting or borrowing a camera, recording your webinar presentation once, and then using that recording in an automated webinar funnel. This cuts down on your equipment cost since you won't be hosting recurring webinars and can thus rent instead of buying.

Conclusión

As you can see, you can get a quality external webcam from Logitech at any price point or save money by pairing your iPhone with apps like Camo. Now that you have your webinar equipment covered, it's time to decide which software you'll be using to host engaging webinars.
